WASHINGTON, Jan. 12 (UPI) -- An Irish bookmaker offering odds on how long former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin will last at Fox News says about half of betters believe she will be gone in a year.

PaddyPower.com also offers bets on which group is likely to take umbrage at the "gaffe-prone" Palin, The Philadelphia Inquirer reports. Gays and lesbians are the most popular choice at odds of 4-1, with blacks and U.S. Muslims running neck and neck at 6-1.

Fox News announced Monday that Palin has a "multiyear contract" as a pundit. But the odds on Paddy Power are 8-1 that she will be gone by Sept. 1, 10-11 that she will depart between Sept. 1 and Dec. 31 and 11-10 that she will still be on the Fox payroll in 2011.

The bookie is also placing bets on the identity of the Republican presidential nominee in 2012. Palin, at odds of 5-1, is tied with Newt Gingrich for third, behind former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour.
