Date's 'surprise' allegedly car theft

EVERETT, Wash., Jan. 1 (UPI) -- A young Washington state man says a woman he met on MySpace had a nasty surprise for him -- she took in his car with his laptop and other possessions.

Ashley Dawson, 19, was arrested after she allegedly stole Andrew Scarborough's car a second time, KOMO-TV, Seattle, reported. She was formally charged Wednesday.

Scarborough, an Everett resident, said he agreed to meet Dawson in person after getting to know her on MySpace. At first everything seemed to be going well, he said -- they hit it off, went to his place and took their clothes off.

Then, he says, Dawson told him to get under the shower, saying she had a surprise for him. The surprise was that she left in a hurry, and when he got out of the shower his laptop, keys, wallet and cellphone were also missing.

Police recovered the car. But Dawson allegedly stole it again a few weeks later.

This time, investigators say, when they found the car she was just getting out of it.
