Shelbyville police said they received a report during Saturday night's Christmas parade of an apparently inebriated woman "wearing a red coat who was riding on a white horse" in the parade, but officers could not locate the woman or her mount on the Shelbyville square, the Shelbyville Times-Gazette reported Thursday.

Investigators said they found Patti Lynn Moore, 46, sleeping on top of her horse outside a North Cannon Boulevard motel about 15 minutes after receiving the report.

Moore was arrested and charged with public intoxication. She was released after posting $500 bond.

Jeweler: Gatecrasher's watch a fake

WASHINGTON, Dec. 10 (UPI) -- The watch Tareq Salahi, the Virginia man who crashed a dinner at the White House, was forced to turn over as security for a debt is a fake, a jeweler says.

Ray Cosey, owner of R E Jewelers Watch & Clock in Chambersburg, Pa., told The Washington Post the watch, supposedly a Patek Phillipe, was worth about $100. A real Patek Phillipe could go for as much as $15,000.

"Right away, we could see it was an imitation," Cosey said. "Oh yeah, even the look of the watch, you could just tell it wasn't real."

A Warren County judge ordered Salahi to hand over the watch during a hearing last week in Front Royal, Va., on a financial dispute with a landscaper. On Monday, Salahi gave the landscaper's lawyer a certified check for $2,063.35 and got his watch back.

Salahi and his wife, Michaele, became notorious in November when they allegedly got into President Obama's state dinner for Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh even though they had received no invitation.

Police: Tracks in snow led to suspect

ALTOONA, Pa., Dec. 10 (UPI) -- Police in Pennsylvania said they followed a trail of footprints in the snow from the scene of a burglary to a suspect.

Altoona police said the front window of Vic's Mini Store was smashed with a brick at about 1 a.m. Wednesday and police followed tracks in snow from the crime scene to the open back door of a home about a block from the shop, the Altoona Mirror reported Thursday.

Joshua Charles Phillips, 28, of Tennessee, was found in the attic of the home, where he had been staying with a disabled relative. Phillips, who was wearing wet shoes and wet pants, initially told officers he had been asleep all night, but his cousin told police he had gone along with Phillips to act as a lookout during the break-in, investigators said.

Officers said Phillips later amended his story, saying he was walking down the street tossing the brick in the air and accidentally broke the window when he missed a catch.

Phillips was charged with attempted burglary and criminal mischief. He was being held on $30,000 cash bail.
