WALDO, Wis., Dec. 10 (UPI) -- A Wisconsin judge handed down a one-year sentence to a man who urinated on a police officer shortly after his fifth arrest for drunken driving.

Daniel Shilts Jr., 36, of Waldo, was sentenced to one year in jail and three years probation, with a stayed three-year prison sentence if probation is revoked, the Sheboygan (Wis.) Press reported Thursday.

Court records released Wednesday revealed Judge Gary Langhoff sentenced Shilts Nov. 30 on felony counts of operating while intoxicated and bail jumping.

Shilts was arrested in November 2008 after police saw him strike a pole in a gas station lot and nearly strike a squad car after driving erratically.

Police said Shilts failed numerous field sobriety tests and urinated while in the back seat of a squad car, causing some urine to spray through the center divider and onto the back of an officer's head.

A felony count of expelling bodily substances at a public safety worker and other charges were dropped as part of a plea agreement.
