Heidi Kay Werstler: Claim your bottle

OCEAN CITY, N.J., Nov. 28 (UPI) -- Heidi Kay Werstler has a weekend stay in Ocean City, N.J., coming if she steps forward as the author of a message in a bottle tossed off a pier in 1985.

The bottle, with her name and address -- "Trembler's Trailer Park, Pa." -- washed up this week at the Sanderling Resort & Spa on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, The Philadelphia Inquirer reported.

The bottle was thrown into the ocean 24 years ago as part of a contest in Ocean city that promised a prize to the person whose note went the farthest.

As of Friday, Werstler had not stepped forward to claim her weekend, despite messages left for several Heidi Werstlers on Internet social networking sites, Ocean City spokesman Mark Soifer said.

The bottles were tossed into the Atlantic from the Music Pier, with finders asked to call the Ocean City public-relations department, Soifer said.

Just one other bottle from the contest has been found. The owner of that bottle, found in the 1990s in Virginia or Maryland, never turned up.
