Microbrewery selling beer soap

CHICAGO, Oct. 29 (UPI) -- A Chicago microbrewery is branching its beer business into the bathroom with a soap that lists beer as its main ingredient.

The Half Acre Beer Company said the beer soap, which sells for $6 a bar, is a hot item at the brewery store, with two-thirds of the stock sold in only 10 days, the Chicago Sun-Times reported Thursday.

The soap was invented by Jim Gregory, 22, a senior at Indiana's Hanover College. Gregory and his company, Grandma Gee's, say "macronutrients" in the beer are good for the skin and hair. Gregory said the soap also contains lavender, bergamot and menthol to keep the yeasty smell of beer at bay.
