CHICAGO, Oct. 11 (UPI) -- A 27-year-old Chicago man says he will pay whoever stole his bicycle to return his beloved two-wheeled transport, no questions asked.

The Chicago Sun-Times reported Sunday that U.S. Army veteran Charlie Dennis is desperate to be reunited with the bicycle he rode nearly 1,800 miles from Denver to Chicago two years ago.

"I only care about getting it back," Dennis said of his missing bicycle. "That's all that matters to me."

To that end, Dennis has posted signs offering to purchase his bicycle back, even if it means he must pay off whoever stole it the week before last.

While Dennis would not specify how big a reward he is offering, he did give the Sun-Times a glimpse into why the bicycle is so important to him.

"I'm never going to make that trip again," he said of his solo bicycle journey in spring 2007.
