The Sun Prairie-based organization said the switch was necessary to avoid associations between the organization and the popular Internet and text-messaging use of "WTF," an abbreviation for a profane phrase expressing confusion, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported Thursday. Advertisement "We didn't want it to detract from our mission," TFW spokeswoman Julia Hertel said. She said the organization voted to change the name in July but the decision was not made official on the TFW Web site, which still uses the URL www.witourismfederation.org, until recently.
