Scott Paterson, organizer of the event and a senior at the University of Florida, said he spread the word about the three-minute pillow fight on Facebook and more than 100 students came out pillows swinging at the chime of 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, the Gainesville (Fla.) Sun reported Thursday. Advertisement He said about 900 people confirmed attendance on Facebook, but only about 100 of those who showed up participated in the brawl. "Although not as many people participated in the event as I would have liked, I still believe it was a success because the surrounding people were really surprised," Paterson said. "Students were passing by and saying 'Wow, I couldn't believe they did that!'" Paterson said there were no injuries, no mess left behind and no contact with police during the event.
