MANHATTAN BEACH, Calif., Sept. 11 (UPI) -- The Guinness Storehouse in Dublin, Ireland, topped a California-based travel Web site's list of breweries and distilleries worth a visit by tourists.
VirtualTourist.com said the Guinness Storehouse is an "adult's Disneyland," complete with a museum, brewery tours, a tasting lab and a rooftop bar with a panoramic view of Dublin.
The second spot on the list went to the Jack Daniels Distillery of Lynchburg, Tenn., which offers education about the distillation process, a tour of Jack Daniels' office and a statue of the famed distiller.
The Dominican Republic's Brugal Rum Production Plant took the No. 3 spot on the list for the free samples given out at the end of the tour.
"You can even be a little drunk by only smelling," VirtualTourist member "amsterdam_vallon" said of the Brugal samples.
The Cascade Brewery of Hobart, Australia, the country's oldest continually operating brewery, was mentioned on the list for its three acres of gardens and the Anheuseur-Busch Brewery in St. Louis, Mo., was picked to round out the list for the opportunity for visitors to have their pictures taken with the company's Clydesdale horses.
