SOUTHAVEN, Miss., July 27 (UPI) -- Police in Mississippi said they have arrested a bikini-clad woman who allegedly stole a car and tried to rob a business with a non-existent gun.
Southaven Police Chief Tom Long said Morgan Haley, 24, approached the carjacking victim in the woman's driveway at about 5:30 p.m. Thursday and ordered her to give up her car, The Desoto Times-Tribune, Hernando, Miss., reported Monday.
The victim, who did not put up a struggle, was allowed to remove her children from the car before Haley took it, police said.
Haley drove the car to Southaven RV Center and demanded money, telling employees that she was concealing a gun beneath a towel, Long said. Employees wrestled Haley to the ground and discovered the "gun" was a cell phone.
The suspect was charged with carjacking and assault. She was taken to the DeSoto County Jail in lieu of $6,000.
Police said Haley appeared to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of her alleged crimes.
