DETROIT, July 16 (UPI) -- A suburban Detroit woman said the winnings check she earned from the Bingo Club at the Ford Wayne Civic League in Westland bounced at the bank.

Misty Laturnus, a mother of three with a fourth child on the way, said she won a Bingo game July 11 and was awarded a check for $26,449, WDIV-TV, Detroit, reported Thursday.

"I was waiting for B6 for like seven numbers and it came," Laturnus said. "I jumped up, fell down and hit my head."

However, Laturnus said she received word Monday that the check, which she had used to open a new bank account the previous day, had been returned as uncollectable.

"The bank said they didn't have sufficient funds in their account to clear the check," she said.

The president of the Bingo Club said he called the bank to sort out the issue and had the funds transferred directly to Laturnus' account, the report said.

Laturnus said she did notice a pending transaction on her account Wednesday night, but she does not yet know whether that transaction cleared.
