DALLAS, Feb. 26 (UPI) -- No one has been able to identify the origins of a 6-pound chunk of metal that fell from the sky and slammed through a Dallas home's roof, authorities say.

Dallas police spokesman, Senior Cpl. Kevin Janse, said no one was in the Dallas home when the metal chunk impacted it this week, creating holes in the site's roof and second-story floor, the Fort Worth (Texas) Star-Telegram said Thursday.

No related injuries were reported.

Police were called to the home Tuesday afternoon in response to the incident. Janse said Dallas Fire-Rescue biohazard unit has deemed the metal chunk non-radioactive.

Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Roland Herwig told the Star-Telegram on the day of the incident, no reports were filed regarding falling debris from aircraft in the area.

Janse told the Star-Telegram the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality have been contacted in relation to the mysterious incident.
