NEW YORK, Nov. 18 (UPI) -- A New York woman said a burglar stole so many large items from her house that he would have needed a moving truck to remain inconspicuous.

Tammy Gould, 45, said she returned in May to her apartment in Brooklyn after two days of visiting her ill mother and found her home had been trashed and looted, the New York Post reported Tuesday.

"Everything was gone. It was awful," Gould said.

She said the stolen items included her refrigerator, the kitchen stove, the box-spring mattress and headboard from her bed, her toilet seat cover, 10 winter coats, three flower baskets, a bath towel, a shower curtain, a 19-inch TV and the drapes from her window.

"They must've had a moving truck or... something. This wasn't a one-man job, I can't believe no one saw anything," Gould said.

Police said they found empty beer cans and drug paraphernalia including a broken crack pipe at the first-floor apartment.

William Holmes, 44, was arrested Saturday after police allegedly matched his DNA to a cigarette butt found in the apartment after the theft. Investigators said they are looking into whether there were other suspects.

Holmes was charged with burglary, grand larceny, petit larceny, criminal trespassing and trespassing. He was released without bail.
