FLINT, Mich., Sept. 27 (UPI) -- A 4.68-carat white diamond discovered by a Flint, Mich., man in Arkansas could be worth $5,000 to $20,000, an appraiser said.

Celebrity jeweler Neil Lane said on "The Bonnie Hunt Show" Friday the Chiclet-sized jewel found by Richard Burke at the Arkansas Crater of Diamonds State Park could be worth even more than its appraised value due to the curiosity generated by the diamond, the Detroit News reported Friday.

"Very few people find a diamond like that ever," Lane said.

Burke said he and his wife, Carol, named the gem Sweet Caroline after the Neil Diamond hit. He said the couple plans to keep the diamond and mount it on a piece of jewelry.

"It's a keepsake," he said.
