SKOVDE, Sweden, Sept. 5 (UPI) -- A group of soldiers on training exercises in western Sweden say they came across a dozen tall marijuana plants on their training grounds.

Police representative Anna-Karin Sjostedt said the members of the P4 training regiment immediately contacted authorities regarding the plants, which were in an area popular among berry pickers, The Local reported Friday.

"We used our own knowledge and it was a stand of cannabis," Sjostedt said of Wednesday's discovery.

Police said the pot plants would have had a street value of $6,000.

Police told the Local they have no significant clues as to who planted the marijuana on the training grounds.
