RIVIERA BEACH, Fla., Sept. 3 (UPI) -- A Riviera Beach, Fla., man has become the first in his city to be arrested under a city law outlawing saggy pants, police said.

Authorities said Kenneth Smith, 29, was arrested Tuesday, marking the first arrest for a violation of the law banning pants worn low enough to expose undergarments, WPBF-TV, Palm Beach, Fla., reported Wednesday.

Police said a technicality prevented the law, which was passed in March, from being enforced until July.
