WARREN, Ohio, March 20 (UPI) -- An Ohio newspaper admitted it incorrectly reported that U.S. Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., was fielding questions in a congressman's local office.

"It was incorrectly reported in Tuesday's Tribune Chronicle that Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton answered questions from voters in a local congressman's office," the Warren, Ohio, newspaper wrote.

Reporter John Goodall, assigned to write the story, spoke by phone with Hillary Wicai Viers, communications director for U.S. Rep. Charlie Wilson, D-Ohio. When Viers answered the phone "This is Hillary," the reporter believed he was speaking with the Democratic candidate who had made several visits to the Mahoning Valley previously.

The quotes from Viers were incorrectly attributed to Clinton.

''We rely on reporters to gather accurate information, and in this case, that obviously did not happen," said Frank Robinson, editor of the paper.

The newspaper takes the matter very seriously and the matter is under review, Robinson said.
