In Brattleboro, the issue was on the ballot and the vote was 2,012-1,795. In Marlboro, a non-binding measure at a town meeting passed 43-25 with three abstentions, BSS News reported.

While the votes were largely symbolic, Bush and Cheney may want to avoid the two communities. The language in the measures accused them of "crimes against our Constitution" and directed local law enforcement agencies to arrest and detain them for prosecution.

Wikipedia founder dumps girlfriend online

NEW YORK, March 4 (UPI) -- The New York ex-girlfriend of Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales says that after insisting their relationship be secret he dumped her on the Web site.

Rachel Marsden, a right-wing pundit who recently moved from Canada, decided to go public herself by selling some of her ex-beau's personal items on eBay, the New York Post reported.

"Hi, my name is Rachel, and my (now ex-) boyfriend, Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales, just broke up with me via an announcement on Wikipedia," Marsden wrote on eBay.

"It was such a classy move that I was inspired to do something equally classy myself, so I'm selling a couple of items of clothing he left behind, here in my NYC apartment, on eBay."

The on-line battle began Saturday. Wales, apparently stung by suggestions that he had edited the Wikipedia entry on Marsden, posted a personal statement: "I am no longer involved with Rachel Marsden."

Marsden told the Post that Wales was "paranoid" about their relationship and had threatened that she could be jailed or deported if she let anyone know personal details.

Cabbie accused of stabbing passenger

SYDNEY, March 4 (UPI) -- An Australian cabbie was accused of stabbing a passenger three times after his route was questioned by the patron.

Mohamed Salah Mohamed pleaded not guilty to malicious wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm after he was charged with stabbing Matteo Larghi in his chest, arm and finger, the Sydney Morning Herald reported Tuesday.

Larghi said he spoke up after Mohamed appeared to be taking a longer route to Larghi's home to collect a larger fare.

"I said (to the driver) something like, 'Are you taking the long way? … I'm not a tourist,'" he testified.

Larghi said he started to exit the car after seeing the knife in Mohamed's hand.

"He grabbed me… by the shirt and he stabbed me three times… on my chest, on my arm and finger," he said.

Prosecutor Virginia Lydiard said a knife covered in Larghi's blood was later found on a road along the route. She said the knife was missing its handle.

'Hexapus' found in Wales

LLANGEFNI, Wales, March 4 (UPI) -- A six-legged octopus, christened a hexapus by marine experts, has been discovered off the coast of Wales' Anglesey Island.

Experts at England's Blackpool Sea Life Center, where the creature now resides, said the hexapus is believed to be the first of its kind discovered anywhere on the planet, the North Wales Chronicle reported Tuesday.

"We've scoured the Internet and talked to lots of other aquariums and no one has ever heard of another case of a six-legged octopus," said the center's displays supervisor, Carey Duckhouse.

The center said the marine animal, which has been nicknamed Henry, will go on display alongside octopus brethren.
