Police seek nude drive-through customer

LAKE MARY, Fla., Feb. 19 (UPI) -- Authorities in Lake Mary, Fla., are searching for a man who allegedly drove his red Corvette through a Dunkin' Donuts drive-through while nude below the waist.

Employees at the emporium said the man visited the location without his pants three times Thursday and once Friday, ordering coffee on each occasion, the Orlando (Fla.) Sentinel reported Tuesday.

The employees did not get the man's name or license plate number, but they described him as a bald, white male driving a red Corvette. They said he only ordered coffee on each occasion and did not wait to collect his change, which amounted to 40 cents per visit.

Police Detective Matt Schaefer said the matter is under investigation.

Fla. man allowed to keep venomous snakes

DELTONA, Fla., Feb. 19 (UPI) -- City officials in Deltona, Fla., have determined they cannot force a local man to get rid of his 50 venomous snakes because the man holds state permits.

Brian Radenberg, 37, was cited by animal control officers in December for keeping the venomous reptiles in violation of a city ordinance barring residents from housing the animals within city limits. But Radenberg challenged the citation and officials determined that no action can be taken against him so long as he holds a permit from the state and follows Florida's official guidelines for keeping poisonous snakes, the Daytona Beach (Fla.) News Journal reported Tuesday.

"That's cool," Radenberg said of the decision Friday. "I had a lawyer send me some ammunition to use, but the city's decision is not shocking. I'm glad they are being understanding."

In response to the decision, the City Commission voted Monday to alter its animal control ordinance to allow residents to keep animals permitted by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, WKMG-TV, Orlando, Fla., reported Tuesday.

Urinal thief planned car modification

TAIPEI, Taiwan, Feb. 19 (UPI) -- Police in Taipei have accused a Taiwanese man of stealing a sensor from a gas station urinal with the idea of using it to modify his car.

Wang Chi-sheng was arrested after he allegedly broke into a gas station restroom while the business was closed and broke a sensor off a urinal, The China Post reported Tuesday.

Police said Wang told them he planned to use the sensor to modify a Mercedes Benz automobile.

The Mercedes technicians department of Taiwan called the idea "unbelievable" and said "the probability of successfully using a sensor from a public urinal to replace special factory-made sensors was and remains zero."

The technicians also cautioned that Wang's plan could have inadvertently created an electric current through the engine that likely would have caused the vehicle to ignite and possibly explode.

Police: Man stole 217 cases of stuffing

MIDLAND, Mich., Feb. 19 (UPI) -- Police in Midland, Mich., say a man stole 217 cases of Pepperidge Farms stuffing from a storage trailer owned by the company.

Investigators said the 32-year-old suspect works for one of the distributors that has access to the trailer, the Midland Daily News reported Tuesday.

"We're not sure why he stole it," said Deputy Police Chief Robert Lane. "The only thing I can assume ... is that he was going to sell it."

Lane said 157 of the 217 missing cases -- which have a total value of $8,749 -- were recovered from the suspect's home.

"We developed a suspect in talking with some folks and then went to his residence," he said.

The deputy chief said the suspect is being held in the Midland County Jail and a report has been sent to the prosecutor's office requesting embezzlement charges against the man.
