SCRANTON, Pa., Oct. 16 (UPI) -- A Pennsylvania woman who unleashed a string of expletives at her clogged toilet faces possible jail time and a fine for mouthing off in her home, police said.

Dawn Herb, whose potty mouth caught the ear of an off-duty police officer, was charged with disorderly conduct, prompting her to vow to fight the charge in a letter to the editor she wrote to The (Scranton, Pa.) Times-Tribune, the newspaper reported Tuesday.

"It doesn’t make any sense. I was in my house. It’s not like I was outside or drunk," the Scranton resident said.

It hit the fan as she faced her overflowing toilet Thursday and became increasingly frustrated, she said. She directed a few less-than-ladylike comments toward the clogged commode -- and her voice carried through an open bathroom window.

Her next-door neighbor, a city police officer who was off-duty at the time, asked her to keep it down, police said. When she didn’t stop, he called the police, who cited Herb with disorderly conduct.

"I just feel so violated and irritated," she said. "I don’t even have a criminal record."
