Ryan Patricio, 18, won the U.S. Open Rubik's Cube Championship in Chicago, where he beat the puzzle in 14.17 seconds, The Los Angeles Times reported Sunday. Advertisement Patricio can reportedly solve the puzzle with one hand, can do two at a time and can even solve it blindfolded. His next competition is in Budapest, Hungary, where he will try for the world championship. A Hungarian named Erno Rubik invented the puzzle in 1974. The cube is often associated with geniuses. The Times reported that each Rubik's cube has 43,252,003,274,489,856,000 possible combinations. Patricio told the newspaper that despite his master "cuber" status, he is not all that good at math.
