WAITE PARK, Minn., July 21 (UPI) -- A Minnesota woman who left her car at a gas pump with the key in the ignition lost the vehicle and her daughter's wedding dress.

She was talking to co-workers at the Holiday service station in Waite Park, where she also works, when she saw her car being driven away.

"I didn't really care about the car, but my daughter's dress was in there and two bridesmaid dresses, too," Laurie Malikowski told the St. Paul Pioneer Press.

The theft Thursday left Malikowski and her daughter, Brittani, only two days to get replacements. They found a dress for Brittani -- and someone to do some quick alterations -- and then turned to Macy's for the bridesmaid dresses.

Malikowski said she was so upset she had to get someone else to call her daughter, but Brittani was more concerned about her than about the dress.

In addition to the dresses, Malikowski lost the jewelry she planned to wear to the wedding and an aisle runner that was to have been used in the ceremony.
