Cat fight occurs outside the zoo

ST. PAUL, Minn., July 17 (UPI) -- Two women got into a physical fight over a parking space in a crowded lot at a Minnesota zoo.

The problem started Sunday afternoon when a 22-year-old Scandia woman and her friend spied a spot someone was leaving at the Como Zoo in St. Paul. Although a minivan was queued up to take the spot, the woman got out and stood in the space to reserve it until her friend could park there.

While the woman was standing there, the minivan driver moved closer, threatening to run her down, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reported Tuesday. When she stood her ground, a woman passenger allegedly got out of the minivan and attacked the woman, allegedly shoving, punching and scratching her, as well as ripping her shirt.

The minivan driver separated the two and they took off, police said.

Tom Walsh, a spokesman for St. Paul police, said both women have important lessons to learn, like waiting your turn and not behaving badly because someone else has. As it turned out, the first woman's provocative behavior was for nothing, since her friend found another space while she was standing there.

Lesbian moms used drag queen's sperm

DONCASTER, England, July 17 (UPI) -- A lesbian couple in Britain says the infants they each gave birth to were fathered by a gay drag queen they met in a nightclub.

Stephanie Burns, 23, had asked friend and fellow lesbian Joanne Bartle, 40, to help her find a sperm donor, The Daily Mail reported Tuesday.

When the pair found a willing donor in female impersonator Ryan Egeley, 21, Bartle decided she also wished to give birth, and with Egeley's permission, both women became pregnant with his donated sperm.

Burns and Bartle formed a bond during their pregnancies that blossomed into a relationship ensuring that children Elijah Jo, 13 months, and Martha Rae, 10 months, will grow up with a large family.

"Stephanie and I are so in love," Bartle said. "The kids brought us together properly. We were denying our feelings for each other until then.

"Starting out as friends was the best thing we could have done. We're much stronger for it and we've got a special bond since having the kids. They're our little angels."

'The Simpsons' invade fashion magazine

NEW YORK, July 17 (UPI) -- Harper's Bazaar has recruited the cartoon family "The Simpsons" to model in an animated Paris fashion portfolio appearing in the New York-based magazine.

The spread, timed to coincide with marketing for "The Simpsons Movie," which opens July 27, features patriarch Homer Simpson mirroring Karl Lagerfeld with sunglasses and half gloves, baby Maggie inside a Hermes bag and other members of the animated family with fashion products, the New York Post reported Tuesday.

"We've received requests for the original art to be framed," Harper's special projects editor, Laura Brown, said of the designers' reaction to having their products modeled by the Simpsons.

"It's such a pop-cultural compliment to be 'Simpson-ized.' Through 15 years, for every actor who has appeared on the show, it's the biggest honor, so these designers who haven't been on 'The Simpsons' playing field were just absolutely thrilled," she said.

NEW YORK, July 17 (UPI) -- A sequel to the Internet video hit "I've Got a Crush on Obama," features the video's star, Obama Girl, duking it out with challenger Giuliani Girl in New York.

Giuliani Girl, portrayed by Adelina Kristina sings: "I'm gonna be wife No. 4," referring to the former mayor's three previous marriages as images of his wives are shown on the screen.
