Potential buyers list short for Aspen home

ASPEN, Colo., July 2 (UPI) -- A real estate broker selling an expensive home in Aspen, Colo., said the price of the home makes the potential buyers list short.

Joshua Saslove said the Hala Ranch estate, which was built on 95 acres of property in 1991 for former Saudi ambassador Prince Bandar bin Sultan, is listed at $135 million -- the highest price for a single-family home currently for sale in the United States, The New York Times reported Monday.

Saslove said he has received about 1,000 requests to tour the home since it went on the market in October but he and lawyers for the Saudi prince have granted only 11 of the requests. He said the price of the home means it would most likely be a billionaire who buys the mansion as a second, third or fourth home.

That stipulation keeps the list of potential buys relatively short -- Forbes magazine reports that there are 946 billionaires in the world.
