BASINGSTOKE, England, May 26 (UPI) -- A British fire crew had to tear apart the walls of a home Friday in order to rescue a 560-pound woman stuck in her bathroom.
It took more than a dozen rescuers about four hours to chop a large enough hole in the Basingstoke apartment to get the hapless woman out and onto a stretcher.
After being lowered to the ground with a crane, the woman was taken to a hospital where she was placed in intensive care, The Sun reported Saturday.
The British newspaper said the same firefighters who got her out of the loo also had to wrestle her out of the ambulance.
"There was a lot of huffing and puffing from the men involved," said Fire Service spokesman Mark Jones.
