GLENVIEW, Ill., Jan. 30 (UPI) -- At 103, former Chicago high school teacher Marion Wood is ready to root her Bears on to victory in Super Bowl XLI.

Wood, who has been a fan since before the Staleys took the name Bears in 1922, plans to watch Sunday's game at her apartment at a suburban assisted living community with her grandsons, rather than on a big screen TV downstairs.

"I can't stand watching the game when everyone has their own ideas. I have my own ideas and I don't want to be disturbed," she told the Chicago Tribune. "I want to be focused on the game."

Wood attended the University of Illinois with Bears legend Red Grange and saw him score six touchdowns in a game.

Her favorite players over the years include Grange, Bronko Nagurski, Walter Payton, Jim McMahon and William "Refrigerator" Perry.

Of the current Bears she likes linebacker Brian Urlacher and quarterback Rex Grossman.

"As I said to somebody recently, poor Rex has been eating beans all this time," she said. "His first two years he was injured, then he had to come up the hard way and now he's ready to graduate to eating skirt steak."
