CHICAGO, Aug. 13 (UPI) -- A Buffalo Grove, Ill., man has invented the "Tactical Daddy" vest, a 17-pocket piece of apparel for the father on the go.

The Arlington Heights (Ill.) Daily Herald reported that Marcus Melnick, 33, a father of two, created the vest with the goal of making a more organized, sleek and overall manly version of his wife's diaper bag.

"It's really funny," said the Glencoe (Ill.) Public Safety Department research analyst. "People laugh at me. And after they laugh, they say 'Wait, that's kind of cool.'"

Since creating the "Tactical Daddy" in June, Melnick has already sold six of them on eBay and is prepared to sell more on his very own Web site,

Melnick has an agreement in place with California clothing manufacturer 5.11 Tactical to produce the diaper bag alternative, and will sell them on his site for $69 and $79, the Herald said.
