Robbers lose key to getaway car

SAN DIEGO, March 10 (UPI) -- Two men who held up a San Diego credit union were forced to flee on foot after dropping the key to the getaway car.

The robbery occurred Thursday afternoon at the Orange County Federal Credit Union.

Sheriff's spokesman Jim Amormino told the Orange County Register the two pulled off the heist then ran to their getaway car, which was parked down an embankment, only to realize they didn't have the key.

They were last seen running toward the freeway.
