NEW YORK, Feb. 22 (UPI) -- Web site The Smoking Gun said a convict has threatened suit unless it removes a picture that Web surfers have used for "personal sexual gratification."
Instead of removing the photo of Casey Hicks, 25, the Web site Wednesday featured the woman first profiled in 2002 in a "Foxy Felons" collection of mug shots.
The Smoking Gun said Hicks -- convicted in 2001 in Rockland County, N.Y., of selling drugs -- had since moved to Florida, where she is completing nearly five years of probation.
The Court TV-owned Web site said Hicks' attorney, Terry Bork, in a Feb. 13 letter claimed that posting her picture and conviction details invaded Hicks' privacy, made her fearful for her safety and invited the public to use her picture for sexual self-gratification.
"Through our counsel, we've politely declined Bork's request," The Smoking Gun said of the picture it said also is posted on the Florida Department of Corrections Web site.
