LONDON, Feb. 13 (UPI) -- Women gain and lose weight according to how happy they are in their relationships, a WeightWatchers survey of more than 3,000 married women in Britain shows.

The survey's results allowed the group to categorize the stages of life and average in the average 24.5 pounds gained and lost throughout life.

The first stage was called "The Honeymoon Period," when a woman meets the man of her dreams, and loses an average 8.5 pounds.

But in the following "Comfy Zone" period when things are going well, and a woman gains an average 11.3 pounds. That's all broken up by "The Big Day" period, when she's accepted a marriage proposal, and loses an average of 9.2 pounds, the Daily Mail reported Monday.

"The Baby Boom" results in a gain of 16 pounds, followed by "The Reinvention," where those 16 pounds come off, the survey said.

A "Divorce or Separation" stage was not reported.
