GARDEN CITY, N.Y., Feb. 10 (UPI) -- A New York Daily News delivery truck driver and his helper have been charged with stealing bundles of the New York Times and Post from a newsstand.

Investigators say Marc Rosenfeld, the driver, and Scott Miller stole the papers for resale, Newsday reported. They believe the thefts were private enterprise and not part of any effort by the Daily News to undercut its rivals.

The thefts took place at a Garden City train station between early October and mid-January, police said. The newsstand owner said he lost more than $2,000 in revenue.

A spokeswoman for the Daily News said the paper is cooperating with police.
