BUFFALO, N.Y., Sept. 4 (UPI) -- A 420-pound professional competitive eater won the fourth annual National Chicken Wing Festival in Buffalo, N.Y., by eating 137 wings in 12 minutes.

Eric "Badlands" Booker of Long Island, N.Y., won Saturday over the favorite, 105-pound Sonya Thomas of Alexandria, Va. -- known as "The Black Widow" on the competitive-eating circuit -- reported the Buffalo News Sunday.

Thomas, last year's chicken wing-eating champion, ate 127 wings. Twenty minutes later, she was eating barbecue potato chips.

"I'm still hungry," she said.

The chicken wing-eating contest, sponsored by the International Federation of Competitive Eating, featured nine professional eaters from across the country and a local amateur.
