WOODSTOCK, Ga., Sept. 2 (UPI) -- Chip Goodaker says he was only directing traffic in the parking lot of his Woodstock, Ga., gas station -- but it still got him arrested.

He told police he was trying to prevent chaos and gridlock during the gasoline panic this week in the aftermath of damage caused to refineries and pipelines by Hurricane Katrina. Police told him he was causing traffic snarls on two roads.

Goodaker was charged with obstruction of justice after repeated requests to allow traffic into the lot, Woodstock Police Chief David Schofield told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
