Russian admiral's remains sent home

NOVOROSIISK, Russia, July 24 (UPI) -- Seventy-five years after his death and 88 years after he left Bolshevik Russia, the remains of Russian Admiral Ivan Grigorovich have returned home.

Grigorovich was Russia's last Imperial Navy Minister, had lived in southeastern France after he left his homeland.

In a ceremonial gathering, Russia's top admirals met the remains -- sent via cruiser -- in the southern port of Novorosiisk.

Grigorovich will be buried in a family tomb in St. Petersburg's Alexander Nevsky Monastery, the Russian news agency Novosti said.
