LONDON, April 19 (UPI) -- A photo taken by a Chinese-American astronaut appears to confirm China's Great Wall can be seen from space by the unaided human eye.

Leroy Chiao, who is aboard the International Space Station, took the shot of the structure using commercially available equipment, the BBC reported Tuesday.

He said he is going to try to take another picture of the Great Wall, although he is traveling at about five miles per second.

Other structures visible on his photos are the Egyptian pyramids and several airports.
