Subscribe | UPI Odd Newsletter Subscribe LONDON, Feb. 11 (UPI) -- Britons have been reacting to the news of Prince Charles' marriage to Camilla Parker-Bowles, with polls suggesting a significant number oppose it. Polls by the BBC and the Telegraph newspaper both found more than a third of Britons believe the couple should not marry. Advertisement There is also substantial opposition to Parker-Bowles becoming Princess Consort when the prince eventually becomes king, as planned, with 47 percent of those questioned by the Telegraph saying she should have no title at all. Only seven percent said she should become queen. Parker-Bowles will take the title HRH Duchess of Cornwall when she weds the prince in a civil ceremony at Windsor Castle on April 8. The Telegraph poll also found a majority of Britons would prefer the monarchy to skip a generation, with the queen passing the crown to her grandson, Prince William, 22, on her death. The Telegraph polled 1,313 people, while 121,987 have so far voted in the ongoing BBC poll.
