MIAMI, Dec. 3 (UPI) -- Miami-based Burger King is offering a Whopper of a reward for the return of its many missing SpongeBob inflatables, CNN/Money said Friday.

There have been a rash of "Spongenappings" across the United States, with vandals making off with the 9-foot tall inflatables perched on BK rooftops.

"We are concerned about our missing, massive sponges and the effect their absence is having on SpongeBob fans, employees, children and parents everywhere," BK Chief Marketing Officer Russ Klein said in a news release.

Therefore, the fast food chain is offering a year's worth of "Burger Bucks," good for Whoppers or any other item on its menu as a reward leading to the safe return of any SpongeBobs.

But to discourage anyone thinking of taking a SpongeBob to earn the reward, it's only good for inflatables stolen during the month of November.
