Japanese drack down on shaved eyebrows

TOKYO, Nov. 28 (UPI) -- The Japan High School Baseball Federation has ordered schools to crack down on student athletes who are shaving their eyebrows or wearing shabby clothes.

"This is probably the first time for us to give instructions over the appearance of student players," a federation official told the Mainichi Daily News.

Some high schools in Japan have already banned students from shaving their eyebrows, which is the latest fad among schoolboys in Japan, the newspaper reported Sunday.

The federation said student players must realize they represent their schools as baseball club members.
