WKMG-TV in Orlando reported receiving that hundreds of people called the station and a local radio talk show to report the mystery light or to seek information on what caused it. Advertisement "This could have been a meteorite and there was some talk that their might have been a satellite going back through earth's atmosphere," the TV station's meteorologist, Reynolds Wolf, said. "Right now, we are thinking maybe a meteorite." The Leonid meteor shower, usually one of the most spectacular of the year, peaked early Friday. Tom Deer, a station employee who served as an Air Force meteorologist, described the light as a white streak that lasted for about 30 seconds and was bright enough to light up the area.
