When the Bank One branch opened in April, it came with a metal detector and a policy only one person could enter the branch at a time. Advertisement That didn't sit well with the Rev. Michael Pfleger, pastor of St. Sabina Catholic Church, who said because the branch is in a minority neighborhood, the detector is a form of stereotyping. "I'm hoping they have enough good sense and respect to stop it," Pfleger said. "If you don't want to respect us, get the hell out of our community." Bank officials insist it's a more sophisticated level of security for customers and employees and is a necessity in high crime areas. Metal detectors have been installed in eight other Bank One branches across the country since 1998, but this is the first in Chicago, a spokeswoman said, adding detectors will be installed in other Chicago branches as well.
