MOPPING A SIGN OF LOVE

The way to a woman's heart is with a mop and bucket or maybe a broom, according to a study by vacuum-maker Eureka Co.

The study finds women interpret their partner's domestic contributions as a sign of love and caring, and are therefore more sexually attracted to their mates.

"Only one-third of women surveyed by Eureka expect their male mate to help out with the spring cleaning this year," says Sue Badenhop, cleaning expert for Eureka. "To impress their mates, men should grab a mop and bucket and take over the cleaning tasks for a change."

To help men with cleaning questions, Eureka has instituted a special hotline -- 877-YES-WE-CLEAN -- until April 30.

MANY THINK IT'S TIME TO BURY LENIN

The leader of the Soviet Union, Vladimir Lenin, died Jan. 21, 1924, and the winter weather in Moscow delayed mourners.

Soviet leaders had Lenin's body embalmed so Russians could pay their respects. Mourners came and kept coming so Joseph Stalin ordered scientists to preserve Lenin's body, and ever since it has been checked every 18 months for deterioration, Pravda reports.

However, only 30 percent still think this is a good idea, according to a public opinion poll of 1,500 Russians with a margin of error of plus/minus 3.6 percent.

'FATAL ATTRACTION' KILLER ALLEGATIONS

A New York state corrections officer has been accused of having sex with the "Fatal Attraction" killer Carolyn Warmus, the New York Post learned exclusively.

Warmus, whose jealousy-fueled shooting of the suburban wife of her then-lover and fellow elementary school teacher spurred media comparisons with Glenn Close's obsessed character in the movie "Fatal Attraction."

She is serving 25 years to life at the maximum security prison for women in Bedford Hills, N.Y., for the 1989 murder. The corrections officer has denied the allegation.

Sources tell the Post Warmus gave prison officials what she said was a sample of the guard's semen, which she had kept refrigerated in plastic for two years.

MARRIAGE IN SPORTS HEAVEN

It's a marriage made in sports heaven -- New York City ESPN Zone bartender Lori Brown got her proposal from physical education teacher Mike Schmid via the Yankees scoreboard.

"We talked sports all night long," she tells the New York Daily News. "He was the first guy I met who could keep up with me."

Brown's bachelorette party was spent at Boston's Fenway Park, where she was booed when she showed up with 23 friends wearing Yankee blue T-shirts with "1918" on them -- a reminder of Boston's baseball drought with the Red Sox.

The honeymoon is the envy of most men -- the happy couple will visit nine ballparks across the country and the Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio.
