SEMMES, Ala., Jan. 27 (UPI) -- An 11-month-old Alabama boy took a page out of George W. Bush's book of preemptive attack when he picked up a menacing snake and bit it like a moving sausage.

Fearing for her son's nutrition habits, the boy's mother took the snake from him and it was promptly executed, the Mobile Register reported Tuesday.

According to the boy's mother, the snake had crawled out of a sack of potatoes she had bought at the local Wal-Mart. The store pulled the remaining potatoes from the same brand off of their shelves.

The boy's mother claims that the snake was a baby copperhead, a very poisonous snake.

Neither the boy nor his mother were harmed.
