LONDON, Sept. 5 (UPI) -- Four-year-old Jessica Brown has something new to tell her playmates -- how a fox sneaked into her London bedroom as she slept and bit her.

The little girl's parents, Richard Brown and Corinne Magnier, told the Daily Mail they knew nothing of the intruder until Jessica screamed. The fox, possibly lured into the house by the aroma of dinner, came in through the back door and went upstairs, where it bit Jessica on the arm.

Jessica, rushed to a hospital with teeth marks and other bruises, was reported doing well.

Increasing numbers of foxes in urban areas have led to a rise in the number of confrontations between them and humans. Trevor Williams, of the Fox Project, said town foxes are known to wander into houses, especially in the late summer when young foxes are looking for new territory.
