CARDIFF, Wales, Aug. 21 (UPI) -- Six Welsh seniors cheated of a visit to the sea by vandals got their wish in a donated funeral limousine.

Vandals broke into the Baybridge Nursing Home and smashed the minivan fleet during the weekend, canceling the seniors' plans for a day out Wednesday, the Cardiff Western Mail said.

The pensioners from the South Wales nursing home were offered the limousine after a funeral home manager spotted a story about their plight.

The six pensioners were treated to a day out at Barry Island and were even bought ice cream by the generous manager of James Summers and Son Funeral Home.

Geoff Hinton, manager of the funeral home, said the residents were "over the moon" when he offered his services.

He insisted the silver limousine with a private registration number did not look like a funeral car unless it was travelling behind a hearse.
