MUSIC AND MORE CMT PLANS CONCERT OF COUNTRY'S BEST-EVER SONGS CMT will present some of country music's top artists performing the genre's best songs in concert next month to be taped for the network's "100 Greatest Songs Of Country Music" special. The show at Nashville's Gaylord Entertainment Center is set for June 4, just four days before the six-hour telecast debuts on CMT. The Top 12 songs will be performed by Vince Gill, Martina McBride, Kenny Chesney, LeAnn Rimes, Deana Carter, Sara Evans, Marty Stuart, Glen Campbell and George Jones. More artists will be announced soon, CMT said. Advertisement TIM PLANS COLORADO ARMY BASE SHOW Tim McGraw is planning to put on a free concert at Fort Carson Army Base in Colorado Springs, Colo., on May 21. It's open to all military personnel and their families stationed at Fort Carson and other area military installations, including the Air Force Academy and three other Air Force bases, said McGraw's Web site, timmcgraw.com. The "One Base Show" is being held during the current "Tim McGraw & The Dancehall Doctors: One Band Show." "Our tour began shortly before the war, so it just seemed fitting that we add this show to give a little something back to those who sacrificed so much," says McGraw. "It's our small way of saying thank you." ADKINS' VOICE IN 'KING OF THE HILL' EPISODE Trace Adkins' rich baritone is commonly heard on country music radio stations but soon it'll come out of TV sets everywhere. Adkins just finished recording voice overs for an upcoming episode of "King of the Hill," Fox TV's animated series. He'll play the part of a character named Big John the Trucker and has recorded a song for a future episode, says Adkins' Web site, traceadkins.com. Advertisement
