After a stint with Lionel Hampton in 1953 and two years in the house band at New York's Apollo Theatre, he worked with Lucky Millinder, Benny Goodman and Duke Ellington. Advertisement Drummer Jake Hanna was born this day in Boston in 1931. He worked with Marian McPartland and Woody Herman before starting a 10-year association with Merv Griffin's television show. In the 1970s and '80s, this wide-ranging drummer recorded frequently for Concord Jazz in the company of Dave McKenna, Scott Hamilton and the Concord Super Band. Besides Terry's quintet with special guests James Moody and Jon Faddis, tonight's lineup includes singer Ernie Andrews, trombonist Wycliffe Gordon with trumpeters Terell Stafford and Marcus Belgrave, singer Rebecca Parris and the George Mesterhazy trio, Jimmy McGriff, Juanita Williams and Lonnie Youngblood.
