CHICKS' NEW ALBUM NOT FOR KIDS

The Dixie Chicks' new album, "Home," hits stores Tuesday with a more traditional country sound, one that Natalie Maines believes might be less appealing to their youngest fans.

While performing some of the songs from the album at recent concerts, Maines noticed youngsters were not paying much attention to the new stuff.

But Maines says the Chicks could not go anywhere but the hard-core country direction they took on "Home."

One critic who was able to listen to the new album said it's "traditional and timely, down-home and uptown all at once, the back porch of a penthouse."

"Long Time Gone," a track on the new album, is No. 2 on Billboard's singles chart.
