BUT WHO WILL PLAY JOHN-JOHN?

TBS has announced plans for a TV movie based on Christopher Anderson's biography of John F. Kennedy Jr., "The Day John Died."

The movie, "America's Prince: The JFK Jr. Story," will star Jacqueline Bisset ("The Deep," "Rich and Famous") as JFK Jr.'s mother, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, and Portia de Rossi ("Ally McBeal") as his wife, Carolyn Bessette Kennedy. She and her sister Lauren Bessette died with Kennedy when their small plane crashed on a flight from Caldwell, N.J. to Martha's Vineyard, Mass., in July 1999.

No one has been cast yet as JFK Jr. TBS expects to air its project this December of January.

CBS is also planning a movie about JFK Jr.'s life and death, based on Richard Blow's biography "American Son."

CHAN PACKS BAG FOR 'WORLD' TOUR

Jackie Chan will star in a remake of "Around the World in Eighty Days," the screen adaptation of Jules Verne's Industrial Revolution-era tale which won the best picture Oscar in 1956.

Chan will play Passepartout, servant to the main character, Phileas Fogg, who sets out to win a bet that he can travel around the world in 80 days. Passepartout was played in the original by Mexican star Cantinflas.

Frank Coraci ("The Wedding Singer," "The Waterboy") is set to direct.

The role of Fogg has not been cast. It is also not clear whether producers will repeat the gimmick casting of the original, which featured cameos by dozens of major stars of the period -- including Charles Boyer, Joe E. Brown, Noel Coward, Marlene Dietrich, John Gielgud, Buster Keaton, Peter Lorre, Shirley MacLaine, Cesar Romero, Frank Sinatra and Red Skelton.

HALLE BERRY'S NEXT

Halle Berry, due on screens this year in the new James Bond movie "Die Another Day," is reportedly in talks to star as a vengeful psychiatrist in "Need."

The Oscar-winning star of "Monster's Ball" would play a shrink who goes after one of her clients when she learns that her husband is cheating on her with the young client.

The screenplay was written by Chloe King, best known for "Poison Ivy II" (1995) and a series of Zalman King's "Red Shoe Diaries" movies. Luis Mandoki ("Angel Eyes," "When a Man Loves a Woman") is set to direct.

ANTONIO BANDERAS' NEXT

Antonio Banderas is set to play Mexican revolutionary Pancho Villa in the upcoming HBO movie "Pancho Villa as Himself."

The movie, to be directed Bruce Beresford ("Driving Miss Daisy," "Tender Mercies"), is an account of Villa's collaboration with legendary filmmaker D.W. Griffith on one of Hollywood's earliest action movies.

According to legend, Villa allowed Griffith to place cameras more or less in the middle of a battle, to shoot footage that was eventually used in "The Life of General Villa" (1914) -- starring Villa as himself -- and "The Outlaw's Revenge" (1915).

JENNA ELFMAN'S NEXT

Jenna Elfman ("Dharma & Greg") has signed to star in "Obsessed," a TV movie for Lifetime about a woman who falls in love with a married doctor.

When he denies that they are in a relationship, she presses her case and winds up in jail, charged with harassment.

John Badham ("Saturday Night Fever," Stakeout") is set to direct.

MEASURING REAL CLOUT

Using a formula it has devised to measure both wealth and fame, Forbes magazine has issued its annual Celebrity 100 list -- and pop star Britney Spears is No. 1.

If it were just about money, the singer would rank just 25th on the list. But it's also about star power -- as measured in media coverage.

By those standards, Spears is a bigger celebrity than Tom Cruise, who isn't even on the list this year, and Tom Hanks, who came in tenth.

Tiger Woods finished second, followed by Steven Spielberg, Madonna, U2, 'NSync, Mariah Carey, Oprah Winfrey and Michael Jordan.

Cruise -- No. 1 on last year's list -- deferred his payment for his new movie "Minority Report" so that it was not included in the time frame used by Forbes to calculate this year's list.

Bill Clinton made the list, at No. 18. Clinton has attracted extensive media coverage ever since he became a national political figure. Now he has earning power that puts him on a par with major movie stars and athletes, having earned $25 million during the past 12 months.
