THE RICH GET RICHER

"Spider-Man," which grossed a record $114.8 million in its opening weekend, wasn't finished breaking box-office records when the weekend was over -- pulling down another $11 million on Monday.

That was the biggest Monday gross ever, not counting holiday Mondays. By comparison, "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" grossed $6.6 million on the Monday after its opening weekend -- and went on to gross $110.5 million in its first six days.

That number was eye-popping last November. It seems almost quaint next to the numbers "Spider-Man" is putting up.

GET IT WHILE THE GETTING'S GOOD?

With "Spidey-mania" at a peak, "Spider-Man" co-creator Stan Lee is selling part of his personal collection of comics and art this summer.

"This is material Stan has kept all these years in his reference collection," said John Petty, director of Heritage Comics Auctions of Dallas (HeritageComics.com).

The lot includes Lee's personal reference copies of all key Marvel Comics issues such as Fantastic Four No.1 and Amazing Fantasy No. 15 -- in which Spider-Man first appeared. It also includes Avengers No. 1, Daredevil No. 1, and Amazing Spider-Man No. 1 -- as well as items from Lee's collection of original art from the Spider-Man newspaper strip.

Lee -- who also created Hulk, Daredevil and the X-Men -- said he has been waiting for "just the right opportunity to release these colorful old friends of mine" to comic book memorabilia collectors.

"These comics are my personal copies, the ones I've read and referred to over the years," said Lee. "I love each one because they represent the highlights of my career to me and I've enjoyed thumbing through them time and again."

Lee said they are "the only copies of these key books that I've saved and treasured."

Heritage Comics Auctions will conduct the sale at the Wizard World comic book collectors' convention in Chicago, July 4-7. Lee expects to be there when his stuff is put up for bid on July 5.

LOVE WAS ALL AROUND

Minneapolis celebrated its fictional favorite daughter -- Mary Richards -- on Wednesday, unveiling a bronze statue of Mary Tyler Moore doing the famous "hat toss" that opened her long-running, Emmy-winning comedy on CBS each week.

"I guess I can take a nothing day and suddenly make it all seem worthwhile," said Moore -- recalling the words of the theme song from "The Mary Tyler Moore Show," after Sonny Curtis led a crowd estimated at 2,000 in a sing-a-long of "Love is All Around," the theme he composed and sang on the show.

"Some people will say to me, 'You know, I grew up watching you,'" said Moore. "And I say to them that I did, too."

She ended the ceremony by tossing a hat into the crowd.

MONICA WHO?

AskMen.com held an online poll to determine who was the Most Desirable Woman of 2002, and the winner was Monica Bellucci -- an Italian actress perhaps best known to Americans for her role in last year's action-costume drama "Brotherhood of the Wolf."

The online men's magazine said the list was not "about choosing the most beautiful, the most intelligent or the most accomplished women." It said the main idea was to choose women that readers "most desire as a girlfriend, wife and everything in between."

Two Sports Illustrated swimsuit models -- Elsa Benitez (2) and Heidi Klum (4) -- finished in the top 10. Two Oscar-winning actresses -- Halle Berry (3) and Julia Roberts (5) -- also made the top 10. Pop star Jessica Simpson came in at No. 7, Lucy Liu was ninth, and Jennifer Lopez came in tenth.

Bellucci is a well-known actress and model in Europe. Her international profile is sure to be raised when she arrives on screens in "The Matrix Reloaded" and "The Matrix Revolutions" -- the sequels to the 1999 futuristic action hit.

CHARLIE'S ANGELS CONVENTION DATES SET

The Charlie's Angels Convention is set to run on Sept. 21-23 in Marina Del Rey, Calif. at the Marina International Hotel -- which was used as a location in the show's 1978 episode, "The Jade Trap."

The convention will feature a Charlie's Angel Tour, visiting locations where various episodes were filmed in Los Angeles.

It's the brainchild of actor-writer Mike Pingel -- who said he actually auditioned for the role of Cameron Diaz's boyfriend in the 2000 movie adaptation of the TV show. Luke Wilson got the part. He'll be back for the sequel, along with Diaz, Drew Barrymore and Lucy Liu.

Pingel is a leading collector of "Charlie's Angels" memorabilia, with a collection that includes the original "Harry's Angels" script, a "Charlie's Angels" pinball machine and a Farrah Fawcett high-heel shoe.
